This Is Not A Game

War imagery is ubiquitous. From news imagery of current conflict, to remembrance parades, airshows, video games and movies; war is glamourised and packaged- sold to us in many forms. This is Not a Game asks if this ubiquitous imagery and constant use of conflict as entertainment acts as a cultural desensitiser: leaving us more open to the possibility or even inevitability of actual armed conflict. Combining documentary images of games, video game stills, constructed imagery and portraiture, the images question how comfortable society has become with conflict, through associated objects, landscapes, and those who play.
